Weight Off My Shoulders

So my income tax refund came in last weekend, and it was bigger than expected — almost one and a half times what H&R Block told me it would be.

The first thing I wanted to do once I got my refund was pay off my Visa bill. But given that TD Canada Trust was a few days away from issuing another statement and applying more interest, I figured I'd wait until they did just that before paying it off, so that next month they wouldn't send me a bill for $10 or some piddling amount.

Those were the most excruciating days I have had in a long while.

Now the card's paid off, and it's such a relief not to have that dagger hanging over my head by a hair. I initially got the card so I could buy stuff over the Internet and rent videos and things like that, but it kind of got out of hand when I got my computer and charged most, if not all, of the accessories to it. Now I just have to be careful not to let that happen again.

As for the rest of the refund, don't you worry about that. I've got plans for that...

Same thing happened to me, actually, only it was increased by something like 1200%... not too shabby! Sadly I don't get to spend any of it because Darcy "needs" a new bike.

Well what about my needs, huh?

    I need a vacation.
